How to taco about it?Hormones.
Personal story of why I wrote this blog:
1. I have always known my mom to be strong and independent. Lately, she has been weak emotionally and I considered it bad because she has always been a role model to me, I didn't know women go through a lot during menopause and I yelled at my mom for being "weak”. I don't want to apologize here because let's be real, my mom is never going to read this. I just want to say to those people like me, didn't know what was going on in their parent's bodies or minds and started blaming them without proper knowledge.
2. I have always been that kid who educates others about girl's bodies. I always have been shamed for talking about it openly. It is right of every man to know about female hormones and vice versa. But the irony was, my identity became that in college. I wanted to be more than that, so I stopped talking about it for a while. Just a few days ago I realized not many people know about hormones and how it works. I thought I knew many things turns out I know only a few things. So I decided to learn more about hormones and the human body.
I distinctly remember my class students were extra enthusiastic about one of the biology lessons called Reproduction and even scored high marks in it but still have no idea what goes through inside the human body.
PATHETIC.
So let's dive in...
Disclaimer: Hormones are a lot complicated so I just touched the surface. Just the basics.
Let's start with estrogen. What's that?
It helps to get a makeover from just a girl next door to a WOMAN.
Estrogen helps to form hips, thighs, buttocks, and vaginal lubrication increases, ie fluids come out of her vagina. Estrogen is also responsible for bone health, and that’s one of the reasons men need estrogen too.
Fun fact: Men and women have each other’s hormone
Next in the line is Progesterone which is responsible for bloating, weight gain, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Its name comes from “gestation,” which means preparation for pregnancy. Progesterone works together with estrogen to regulate the menstrual cycle and fertility.
The uterus prepares an inner lining every month expecting a baby. If there is no sexual contact, progesterone and estrogen levels drop and the uterus sheds its lining—which is called PERIODS. The high progesterone levels just before menstruation (periods) are responsible for bloating, food cravings, mood swings, and PMS. That's when you crave carbs, fats and get angry for silly reasons (girls go through a lot during a month. So I think it is acceptable for girls to be unreasonable). Bloating (before periods) is caused due to the muscle tone of the bowels not being good and cannot keep everything tight.
PMS is the subject of jokes—by both men and women—and remains a misunderstood part of women’s biology. It’s a time when tempers can get short, appetite can increase, depression can set in . . . and it can all fades away after few days. Progesterone is the primary culprit behind the cravings and also makes you sleepy and less likely to want to exercise. It raises insulin resistance and blood sugar levels which can lead to weight gain. From a medical standpoint, the problem with PMS is that it’s such a broad designation.
Nobody knows the reason for PMS and it remains a conspiracy.

When we are pondering over this idea of periods pain next stage of a woman’s hormone is Menopause which occurs any time after the age of 45, but some women develop menopause much earlier. Perimenopause is the time of transition just before a woman enters menopause. It’s not always a gentle time. Perimenopause is also a time when many women gain weight, especially in the belly. Women who have always carried their weight on their hips and butt may experience a shift in the distribution of body fat to the middle section meanwhile, menstrual cycles may become irregular. Estrogen will surge at times, causing episodes of very heavy bleeding. Menopause is a stressful situation. Stress causes hormonal changes that slow metabolism and promote weight gain, including insulin resistance, low thyroid hormone activity, high cortisol (stress hormone), sleep disturbances, vaginal dryness, and shrinkage of breasts may occur. The fluctuations in hormones cause emotional instability. The average age of menopause is 51.
Thus women go through a lot in her life from age of attending puberty till menopause and society call women weak.
