Being Healthy need not be like this..

I see so many people(even I) had the notion that to be healthy(or fit), you had to follow a military regime.
If you don't follow it to T, you are a failure.
And people also think they can eat anything and get away by exercising.
It makes you think that eating "bad" food is wrong, and you need to compensate by sweating it out.

If you didn't sleep well last night, you can't compensate the next day
Or, if you eat "unhealthy" foods, you can't make up for it by exercising or skipping meals.
You cant compensate for anything. You move on with life
It's not the end of the world.
I catch these kinds of people out time and (time) again when they embark on a fat loss or a weight loss journey.

Like every part of life, being healthy or fit is a lifestyle
If you wish to do it for a lasting period. You need to have a balance and make it sustainable
The key word is balance. Spell it out for me: B-A-L-A-N-C-E
I watch every day how celebs casually talk about how they need to exercise more because they ate chocolate or a burger the previous night

Basically Will Smith started  a weight loss journey, but it need not be hard like this...

I am not saying being on a diet is unacceptable. Even athletes are on a diet. But that is customized for their performance.
Top athletes have trainers who study sports science and nutrition who work with them. And they don't train every day. Their training (mostly) focuses on form and performance.
Let us assume. Most of us don't build muscle or lose fat for a role or the Olympics(never say never). Just that we want to look and feel our best, right?
But when eating certain foods or not training for a day makes one guilty is where everyone crosses that line.
We are all humans. We socialize with others, mainly through food
If you are out there and all you think about is whether to eat that chocolate or not
I am here to say eat that

As much as I say always try to eat healthily, and look at labels for hidden chemicals and preservatives, I would also say if anyone is making you feel bad about eating something. GIRL just run the other way
I feel social media have a part to play in shaping your thoughts.
We can get influenced by that, especially when many influencers are saying the same thing day in and day out.
Recently I saw Actor Genelia doing a fitness vlog that focuses on losing her weight(I don't know if she wants to look her best or is doing it for the role. Either way, she looks tired).

We have been there. We all want to look in our best version.
But if you want to make it sustainable, you need to be patient because weight keeps fluctuating on a short-term basis due to stress, eating more, not sleeping enough, and many more(so it's not the correct measurement to weigh in every week). You cant use your body weight to define if you are failing or succeeding in your weight loss or muscle-building journey.
It is not sexy to say this, But it is what it is.
It is sexy to say, "lose weight in 1 week or gain X pounds in a few weeks." It gets a lot of views. It shows people want quick and effortless results.
But when you focus on fat loss and muscle building, it takes a lot of time and patience. Let's be real here.
Lastly, enjoy the journey to get where you want and feel better about yourself to make it sustainable.
"The less enjoyable a workout or diet, the more discipline it requires to maintain. The more discipline it requires to maintain, the higher the probability you give up."
