Boys and hormones

Just like girls, boys are figuring out their bodies, lives, and relationships during adolescence. I have teased many guys for not knowing basic things about girls (like periods) but here I am guilty of not knowing much about guys.
I am dedicating this blog to everyone who are just like me. I am new to this territory. I might sound rude or make mistakes. So please pardon me and feel free to educate me if I am wrong on any part of this blog.
I have misunderstood guys my whole life. I guess I have looked at them on the wrong side.
But I realized it is part of growing and it's duty of both of us to educate each other about each other's body and mind.
This blog was made purposely simple for better understanding.

Let us start with PUBERTY(Adolescence).

It is a period where you keep changing, not only your body but also your mindset and how you perceive the world. Your parents might start treating you differently by now.
Spoiler alert: You might have heard, "Puberty is hard". But you aren't ready for it until you face it.
So what happens to the body?
The body starts producing a chemical secreted by glands, which is called hormones.
In a male, the testicles produce a sex hormone called testosterone which is responsible for the following:
1. Your skin gets fu*ked up because it starts producing more oil (the USA wants you), and some of you might even experience your first pimple at age of 13-15. Some people have clear skin and won't experience serious acne(that is the day I realized that they were God's favourite).
2. You have hair growing in your legs, arms, armpits, chest, pubic area(genitals), and even on your head(lol). For some males, there is a minor breast formation, which is normal.

3. Remember the guy who used to be shorter than you, but after the summer holidays, he outgrew you. Yeah, that's due to a hormone called growth hormone. But different guys grow at different rates.
4. Voice gets deepened during the puberty phase.
Hush-Hush topic: Guys discover masturbation during this age (rubbing genitals for pleasure)

Now, We will take a tour of guys' genitals(I didn't mean to sound dirty)

Male Reproductive System: Structure & Function
1.The penis is a male reproductive organ through which guys pass urine and semen(sperm)-definitely not at the same time. It enlarges during puberty.
2.The prostate gland and seminal vesicles add fluid to sperm for their movement(which is called semen)
Did you know?
November is the month of prostate cancer awareness. Check yourself up regularly.
3. Vas-deferens: TBH, I haven't heard this term myself. Basically, it is a tube that carries sperm through testicles.
4. Testicles: Oval-shaped glands which make hormone testosterone and sperm
5. Scrotum: It is loose skin behind the penis which helps maintain the right temperature to create sperm.

Erections and wet dreams:
When a male gets sexually aroused(turned on), their penis gets bigger and stands out of the body(erection), and the muscles force semen out which is called ejaculation. While dreaming, a man ejaculate which might seem embarrassing, that happens sometimes. And, the penis gets erected sometimes without any apparent reason.

Changing emotions:
Adolescent guys experience frequent mood swings due to hormonal imbalance.
You want to feel independent, demand privacy and, be taken seriously.
You get attracted to other people or develop crushes. It's completely normal to not look for a relationship also. Your friends seem more important to you.
Teenagers might face anxiety or depression also which can be tampered with by eating well, exercising and, taking care of themselves. But if it is too extreme check out:https://www.beyondblue.org.au/who-does-it-affect/young-people

Body image:
As you get older, your body starts changing. It feels different to be in your body, so you look up to people through the content that you watch and start comparing yourself with them. That creates a lot of pressure on yourself and creates body image issues. Look at the body for what it does rather than how it looks. That might help not to compare yourself with others.

Cheers XOXO
