Underrrated habits which will make your life, a little healthier!!



We all want to achieve a goal that will make us happy and confident. But in my opinion, there is no end goal because when you achieve the "goal" you have already started thinking about the next one.
Instead of focusing on the end goal, we have to appreciate the small steps we take every day. I have always set unrealistic goals for myself. For example, I remember I have fixed a goal to study 5 chapters daily. Obviously, I couldn't finish it and I feel guilty for not working "hard enough". Now I am trying to build habits by taking small steps at a time. If I want to develop a habit of reading books every day. I will read at least 1 page every day even if I don't have "time" to read it. Everyone has trouble starting a habit because it seems overwhelming or due to fear of failure. Here 1 page doesn't seem like a lot, right?
These are simple underrated habits that can help you in your healthy lifestyle.
Why should I follow a healthy lifestyle?
"Eating healthy and staying active is a great way to stay connected to yourself. When we allow our internal systems (physical, mental, emotional) to become clogged down by lethargy and unnatural substances, we block the opportunity for growth. Keep your body clean and clear by feeding it well and moving it often." 

Just kidding😂But it does sound weird tho!?


1. Walking for 30 mins:
Walking is the easiest and simplest exercise you can do. Everyone knows how much physical activity is crucial in your life. But it is too intimidating to start exercising at home or go to the gym, especially as a beginner. Walking can be boring, I agree. But it doesn't have to be boring. You can combine other activities like talking to a friend or watching one episode of your favorite series while walking. It seems like a great idea but don't do this on road. Be careful😅

2. Massage your body at least once a week:
Massaging doesn't have to be a luxury where you have to go to a spa and do it. It can be part of your Sunday relaxation routine at home. Use cold-pressed oil and massage in the direction towards your heart. In Ayurveda, it is called abhyanga. If you have painful periods, constipation, itchy skin that means you have a dry body. Oil massage can be a great way to add moisture to your body.

3. Do yoga:
I have to be honest, I am guilty. I want to do yoga. But I didn't enjoy the process that much(maybe I am doing it wrong) so I couldn't keep the habit of doing yoga every day. Yoga has numerous benefits. It improves flexibility, relaxes your body, calms the mind and, it can be a good workout too.
But don't try complex moves without the help of a supervisor.

4. Sleep on your left side:
It is quite surprising, right? Actually, the stomach is placed in such a way that while you are sleeping on the right side the acid can enter your esophagus and cause heartburn. So try to sleep on your left side.

5. Meditate at least 10 mins a day:
Meditation is being in the moment. Often we think about the future and get anxious about it. Meditation helps to calm our minds and help us to live in the moment. Sit in a comfortable position and focus on your breath. It is an excellent night routine to relax our bodies.

6. Walk 10,000 steps:
Why 10,000 steps? That's because it is an ideal number of steps needed to maintain good health. 

I am just kidding. 

Actually 10,000 steps started as a marketing gimmick. It's not about 10,000, it's about being active like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking to market inside of taking the car, walking after meals, etc

7. 20 minutes of sunshine:
Sunlight has vitamin D. Deficiency in vitamin D leads to depression, low immunity, joint pain and, hair fall. Sunlight if, taken the right way can heal the body from diseases. So sunbathe when the sun is not harsh (before 9am or after 4 pm is the best time). Lay in the sun for at least 20mins. If you begin to sweat, that is an indication that you have had enough sunlight.

8. Drinking cold drinks with food:
We often drink coke with pizza, right? Pizza is hot and coke is cold. That confuses the bacteria in the gut because different time is taken to digest different foods. So the food remains undigested and leads to diseases. Plus cold nature foods take longer to digest. That's why it is said to consume hot or warm foods for better digestion.

9. Suppression of urges:
While you are outside or while watching a series, we suppression our urges to urinate or poop. These urges come because of stimuli in our nerves. If we suppress them, it may lead to diseases development like stress, memory impairment, etc

10. Overeating to avoid food waste:
We often overeat if we cooked too much or if we put too much on our plates. But overeating is equivalent to putting fuel beyond the capacity of a vehicle ie. utter waste. Every disease arises from our gut, so overeating can do more harm than good. Instead of eating leftover food, we can keep the food on the streets that will serve those who need it.
