The food has healing power
If you eat the food, you will feel energetic
If the food eats you, you will feel lethargic and sleepy
The food you eat can both nourish you as well as help in purifying the body
Foods like grains, potatoes, milk help to nourish the body
Foods like turmeric, neem, beetroot, bitter gourd help cleanse the body.
There are certain practices you should follow to get the maximum benefit from the food you eat:
1. Drink water 30 mins before and 1 hr after a meal:
Drinking water dilutes the digestive juices. So, the food doesn't digest properly. Plus, the food you eat already has water in it.
2. Food should be ripe and locally sourced:
Food should be ripe(seasonal) and locally sourced to get maximum nutrients.
3. The food should be hot/ warm to get properly digested. You are what you digest. There is no use eating healthy food if food is indigested.
4. Eat the food in a silent, undisturbed room and be calm while eating. Eating in an angry or disturbed mind can affect your digestion.
5. The quantity of food you eat depends on your stomach level. So it is individualized. Eat till you feel a burp. More than that is like filling more petrol than you need for a scooter. You should leave room for digestive juice to digest
6. Eat food according to laws of nature
Breakfast should be light, nutritious
Lunch should be the heaviest meal
Dinner should be light and easily digestible. Eat before sunset
7. Your food should consist of all the tastes- sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent

8. What is a healthy diet?
Eat foods made up of wholesome grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts, dairy products, spices.

- Milk and salt foods
- Maida
